January 2008

Happy New Year to everyone.  A new beginning.  Our first Monday at Foster's was the 8th and we had fun.  Ellicottville was dead but boy did Foster's get crowded.  We had a great time.  Same thing the 15th people are coming to Foster's on Monday.

The 18th we did a gig at the Collins Public Library.  It was a good crowd that weathered the weather.  The Karens introduced us and we had two hours of fun with a great audience.  Dug was having a hard time adjusting to the academic atmosphere, but he pulled thorough as a scholar.  HooRay for Gail!

We have made it through March.  Gail and the banjo player went out west for the month.  It was great hauling three horses and a big black dog.  Arizona proved to be fantastic.  We left Ellicottville knowing it was our last performance at Foster's.  Thank you Skip and Sis for a friendship and a great run.  Where will the Blue Mule Band end up?  We also would like to thank the friendly folks at Foster's on Mondays.  What a great bunch.  We are going to miss spending 1/7 of our life's evenings (Monday Evening) with you folks THANK YOU.                 ______________________________________

Pond skimming was a blast at Holimont, the skiers get better every year.  We played their on Saturday.  The ski season is winding down.  It has been great.  Every year we meet new friends.

The band is getting very busy, We are starting at The Gin Mill and Double Diamond, different venues and excellent opportunity to get our music out to the folks of Ellicottville and the visitors. These two establishments have always been cooking.  We welcome and are thankful for the challenge.  Gail did bring that banjo player back from Arizona.  We will be at Holimont on the 13th and that should be a blast.  It's great having fun at work.  What a concept.  See ya soon.

The first go at the Gin Mill was fabulous.  It's a great place on a Monday night.  There is allot of neon.  The crowd was super, we had fun.  So the tradition rolls on and on Monday night.  Thanks to the locals and the Holimont crew.  Thanks to Bob McCarthy!.  Thanks also to Mary Beth and Ed. We had a mix up in scheduling and almost missed the Holimont Party.  That party is Saturday at 3:30, not Sunday.  Hope to see ya._____________________________________________

The Holimont gig was on Saturday and we made it back from Columbus in time.  It was a good way to cool down from the trip.  The crowd was great and we had fun.  Last night at the Gin Mill was cool.  Fun was had by all.  Christian the bar tender helped with the equipment.  THANKS  It sure is fun at the Gin Mill.  The food looks great!.  We couldn't eat because we had been on another road trip to Ontario, NY, hauling a horse.  I know that doesn't make sense.  Got to go cover up the horse manure.  See ya!

It's already May and the weather today was chilly at the Draft Horse Pull.  Saw allot of old and new friends.  We had trouble with the generators feeding back into our sound system.  We got it corrected by the third set. Move the generators.   It was fun and the folks were a great audience.  It was quite an event, with beautiful horses and equipment.  It was a well put on event.  This is were we got one of our blue mule horses, "Thunder".  The banjo player finally quit state work.,  Dug is doing allot of craving and woodwork.  Gail has more work everyday.  Wee, we are having fun!  What a ride.

What a night at the Gin Mill.  Boy that Spaghetti  smelt good.  A good crowd of people and we had fun!  I keep thinking about that poor Philly from the derby.  What a tragedy.  Life is so precious.  We play at the Double Diamond on Thursday, it's going to be a clam bake.  So bring your appetite.

Things have been slow on Thursdays.  They got to pick up.  Well we are into summer and things are picking up.  I like that word "up".  Pick up, get up, what's up.  Saw Mark on Thursday with his dog and the frisbee.  Three guys from Georgia were playing with the dog and I thought they were going top end up in the band.  But God takes care of drunks and dogs?  The banjo player had another birthday and it was good thanks to Gail and Dug.  Come on John gave me a lottery ticket that turned into twenty and than into fifty.  We are thinking about the Casino.  There is a rainbow outside.

Things are picking up at the Double Diamond.  Noel has started cooking.  Liver and Onions on Tuesday, but we play on Thursday.  We'll have to take a day off.  Tuesday night on the town.  This weekend will be the Mayville Bluegrass Festival.  We will play by the Lake.  It's a good time.  Gail Ann Pearles !  She's back!  Hooray  Superduper!
